In a world defined by modern scientific progress, how should we read and understand the ancient teachings of religious scriptures?
How do scientists of faith themselves read and understand scripture today?
Can we develop new theoretical models and practical resources to better integrate modern science with religious belief?
These are the questions posed by the research project, ‘Science and Scripture in Christianity and Islam’. Focusing on the two largest world religions, we explore how professional scientists of faith read and understand the Bible and Qur’an in light of their work in science. The project is based in Cambridge and focuses on the UK context.
